A warm welcome to our new Qualification Centre Assessors
AFG would like to extend a warm welcome to our new Qualification Assessors Tracy Ashby and Daniel Pennington.
Both Tracy and Daniel have held a number of roles within AFG and bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge in person centred practices and vocational training.
Daniel Pennington said: “I’ve been with Alternative Futures Group now for over 4 years as a Support Worker. In that time I’ve been involved in supporting people with many different learning disabilities, which has enabled me to develop a lot of knowledge and skill. Over the years I have received a high standard of training from AFG and this opportunity within the Qualifications Centre will now enable me to pass on my knowledge and experience to help others provide high levels of care and support, which promote independence and choice.”
Tracy Ashby said: “I’ve worked for AFG since 2005. In that time I’ve really grown and developed my role. I’ve been a Support Worker, Team Leader and more recently an accredited Coach in Person Centred Practices, following training from Helen Sanderson Associates.
Coaching is my passion, and I’ve really enjoyed coaching staff members to become more experienced in using person-centred tools to help make positive changes for the people we support.
This passion encouraged me to apply for the Qualifications Assessor role as part of the Learning and Development Team, and I am really looking forward to not only be developing my career further but also working alongside the fantastic staff members of AFG.”
The AFG Qualifications Assessment Centre provides a range of relevant qualifications across the organisation and is assessed by an experienced assessment team recruited from existing AFG staff members. This means learners have the benefit of applying organisational values within each individual award.
The national average of QCF level 2 compliance is 40%. AFG QCF lies at around 70%. This is testament to a dedicated team that both Danny and Tracy are joining, and shows our aim to support as many learning and development opportunities as possible for AFG staff.
The Assessment Team also have plans to increase award opportunities to the people we support and the teams who support them….so watch this space
We wish you both well in your new roles and look forward to sharing your successes.
