The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) is a professional body for accountants offering training and qualification in management accountancy throughout the UK and worldwide. CIMA is the largest management accounting body in the world, with more than 172,000 members and students in over 165 countries, so to be shortlisted as a finance team who has brought ‘significant benefit to their organisation’ is an immense accolade.

AFG is delighted to have been nominated against four organisations in the medium organisation category (less than 5,000 employees), with entries from around the globe who have all ‘delivered a sparkling performance’. The finance team were invited to the CIMA Annual Awards on 22 November 2011 at the Lancaster London Hotel in London. The awards dinner brings together over 400 of CIMA’s most valued stakeholders and recognises the success of organisations who are leading the way within the accounting profession.

Catherine Conway, Deputy Director of Finance said “I am very proud to be shortlisted for the CIMA Finance team of the year award. It is a true testament to the dedication of the team who have consistently strived towards excellence throughout challenging times. I am especially proud to stand tall amongst nominees from all sectors and countries as a shining example of what a finance team can achieve in the charity sector.”
