Alternative Futures Group sign up to the Social Care Commitment

We’ve signed up to the Social Care Commitment – a scheme launched by the Department of Health to help promote a culture of dignity and respect within the health and social care sector, and raise public confidence in the services it provides.

The scheme has received backing from leaders across the industry, including the Association of Adult Social Services (ADASS), the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and AFG, who have a longstanding commitment to delivering high quality care and support to people with learning disabilities and mental health needs across the North West.

Carol Toner, Community Services Director at Alternative Futures Group said: “At Alternative Futures Group we welcome The Social Care Commitment and see it for all the positive aspects it will have. We have adopted the commitment in full and work to engage all of our people in its purpose and meaning. From induction through to team meetings and supervision we will work at keeping the commitment live and meaningful in everything we do.”

By signing up to the scheme, Alternative Futures Group has made seven clear promises to its employees, which are aimed at ensuring all our staff are provided with the training necessary to guarantee consistently high quality care and support throughout the organisation.

The Social Care Commitment is promoted through Skills for Care, which promotes standards for those working in the care sector, and requires an annual commitment from both the organisation and its employers to improve the standard of care and support given, providing the public with confidence in the personalised services we provide within the North West.
