Jason hits the airwaves

A young unemployed man supported in AFG Rochdale is hitting the radio airwaves.

Jason, 24, is getting ready to produce and present a show about football on Stockport’s Pure FM at the end of September.

As previously reported, AFG Rochdale has recently teamed up with Pure Innovations, a not-for-profit organisation which helps people get into work and access community and leisure activities.

Earlier this year we commissioned Pure Innovations to work closely with a number of people who we support within the Rochdale area, to help them access education, training and work opportunities.

Jenny Newell, Pure Innovations’ Employment Officer, said: “It’s hugely satisfying to see how each individual progresses as they make decisions about their futures and where they want be.”

Kelly Thomas, Area Manager of AFG Rochdale said: “In just a couple of months there are already examples of the people we support being given jobs in local businesses, learning new skills and going to college to study.”
