Keeping Our Promise in Lancaster and Fylde and Wyre

AFG Lancaster and Fylde and Wyre joined forces in Morecambe recently, to celebrate and showcase all things great that have been happening in their areas. The event, attended by the people we support, their families, carers and support teams, raised £89.00 on the day through a charity raffle, in aid of the local SURF (Service User Representative Forum) Group.

One lucky guest, Beverley from Kirkham, scooped the first prize of a 3 night break at White Cross Bay Leisure Park, Windermere, which was kindly donated by Southlakeland Parks.

At the Church of Ascension Church Hall in Torrisholme, where the Carer’s event was held, there were displays on show highlighting how AFG Lancaster and Fylde and Wyre keep Our Promise.

Team Leader Jain Campbell said: “Displays of achievements and activities were created especially for the day; all were fantastic and very artistic! Many of our staff and people supported got busy baking, ensuring we had lots of lovely cakes and biscuits to eat on the day.

Everyone supported locally took an active role in the running of the event; Rob, organised serving drinks, Chris, sold lots of raffle tickets and Iris took part in calling out the raffle tickets. And Gillian enjoyed the whole evening, especially the home made cakes on offer. It was really nice to see everyone working together to showcase all the great work.”
