Liverpool and Sefton Carers to celebrate Human Rights Day
AFG Liverpool and Sefton are hosting a Carers event on Wednesday 11th December 2013 to mark global Human Rights Day.
The event, entitled ‘All Friends Gathered – Socialise and Mince Pies’, will see carers, friends and family of the people we support come together for a mince pie and a mingle with other carers in the area.
Laura Selby, Area Manager of AFG Liverpool and Sefton said: “Human Rights Day is a chance to join people across the world in celebrating human rights. This year’s theme is ‘Working For Your Rights’; celebrating the work that organisations like AFG around the world do to protect our human rights. We’ll be celebrating at our new Community Hub in Tuebrook. It’s a perfect opportunity to get together and reflect on the achievements and successes of the people we support while enjoying a coffee, mince pie, and some Christmas festivities.”
Sandra Cunnah, Area Manager of AFG Liverpool and Sefton added: “The event will mark AFG’s 21st anniversary as we celebrate 21 years of putting people at the heart of everything we do. Human Rights Day is also celebrating 20 years of ‘Working for your Rights’, so it seems fitting that we combine the two. We’ll also be celebrating the launch of our local newsletter showcasing the achievements and news stories of the people we support. It should be a great event.”
The event will be held at Methodist Church, Hope Community Centre, Buckingham Road, Tuebrook, Liverpool, L13 8AY on Wednesday 11th December 2013, 12pm-3pm.
