Qualification Assessment Centre passes Edexcel assessment with flying colours
AFG’s Qualifications Assessment Centre is celebrating after passing a rigorous inspection by Edexcel (the UK’s largest awarding organisation, offering academic and vocational qualifications and testing to schools, colleges and employers) with flying colours.
Edexcel ranked AFG’s learning provision as excellent and described its assessment methods as outstanding. The inspection, which took place in July across AFG’s Health and Social Care Management and Business and Administration qualifications, was conducted as part of Edexcel’s annual quality assurance inspections to ensure that AFG’s Qualification Centre is performing for the benefit of its learners.
Val Want, Edexcel Standards Verifier said: “AFG’s assessment planning is excellent and all records are to a very high standard. Constructive feedback is provided to learners showing the drive and commitment to learners across the qualifications spectrum.”
Carol Toner, Head of Learning and Development said: “AFG have had a Vocational Qualifications Centre for some 10 years now and it has grown in both terms of stature and professional confidence.
These standard verifier visits are crucial to the ongoing development of AFG’s Vocational Qualifications Centre. The fact that this team have managed to hold an action free status for some two years now is nothing short of phenomenal success.”
She added: “Through the years there has been such a great deal of dedication and hard work poured into this centre that it feels as if these were the very foundation stones on where the centre now quite rightly sits both in AFG and the local community.”
Nicki Boon, Interim Learning and Development Manager said: “The excellent outcome of both visits is a testament to the hard work and commitment to maintaining quality assessment and verification practices from all the team. With this confidence we are now able to offer our services to local Vocational Centres who may be struggling in terms of meeting the centre requirements with an awarding body.”
Nicki concluded: “Here’s to the continued success of Alternative Futures Group’s Qualifications Assessment Centre.”
