Rocking and rolling with Abbey Court

The people we support, their families and Abbey Court, Independent Hospital staff put their glad rags on and rocked around the clock for their 50s Rock and Roll party, on Sunday 4 August.

The aim of the themed party was to give the people we support, their families and carers the chance to get together and reminisce from earlier in their lifetime.

To bring the day to life staff dressed in 50s style outfits, professional singer – Mike Doody performed live, a 50s rock and roll disco got everyone doing the hand jive, followed by a delicious buffet.

Lisa Kay, Registered Manager at Abbey Court said: “It’s great to be able to organise these types of events for the people we support, as they bring out the person from within. Staff worked really hard to support our people and make this happen. Well done to the team for a fantastic party!”

Sheila Vose, Dementia Care Co ordinator at Abbey Court said: “It was lovely to see everyone dancing, singing, reminiscing and having a good time together.”

Hilda, supported by Abbey Court said: “I enjoyed the singing and all the gang being together and having fun.”
