I joined AFG as a Trustee in 2015.
I was motivated to apply as a Trustee after seeing the commitment of the organisation to improve both health and social care at home. There are few organisations that can deliver an integrated package of care to people and their carers, but this is something that AFG does for 2000 people across the North West on a daily basis.
I spent most of my career working in the statutory and voluntary sectors at Executive and Trustee level with a specific interest in improvement of organisational performance and business development.
I am Chair of South Derbyshire Citizens Advice Bureau an organisation which supports people to take control of their lives and successfully integrate into the local community. Trustees, staff and volunteers at Citizens Advice provide comprehensive advice and support to address inequalities and support improvement in health, housing, debt and social care across south Derbyshire and beyond.
I am co Director of Lloyd & Lloyd Associates, an organisation that supports health and social care to improve their performance with specialist focus on strategic performance, operational delivery and business development.
Prior to joining Lloyd & Lloyd Associates I worked as a Director of Operational Services and strategic development and innovation of mental health services for one of the largest mental health providers in the UK and Chief Executive of a Hospice. I was also Regional Director of Performance covering organisations providing health services for a population of over 5.4 million.
My early career was in primary care and then I moved to forensic mental health services where I developed an interest in mental health services and offender management, volunteering as a monitoring board member at a Cat B prison. I obtained a Masters in Business Administration from Sheffield Hallam University and have a keen interest in business innovation, business development and strategic performance within the voluntary sector.
