Support Workers Maggy and Mark go the extra mile for charity
Congratulations to Maggy and Mark, Support Workers from Burnley and Manchester who successfully completed the Manchester Marathon this year in support of The Muscular Dystrophy Campaign and The Christie.
Maggy said: “I ran in memory of my brother Ashley who unfortunately died from muscular dystrophy. I wanted to raise awareness about the condition and the support available for others affected by it.
I successfully completed the race at a time of 6 hours and 5 mins and Mark did it in 5 hours 39 mins. It was a really hard journey but knowing your helping others makes the pain so much more worth it. We are both looking forward to the next challenge!”
Mark ran in support of The Christie because of the care and support they have recently provided one of his family members, following their battle with cancer.
Nicola Hartley, East Lancashire Team Leader said: “I am very proud of the hard work Maggy and Mark have put into this event in the name of charity.”
AFG would like to congratulate Maggy and Mark on their great achievement.
